The Rhythm of the All

The Rhythm of the All

Last year I decided to begin my journey as a Tribal Belly Dancer. I have learned a lot about myself and the world around me in the process. We dance to drums, sometimes live drumming. I feel the music through my body, the connection to those around me and the connection to everything, the All. See previous post "Dance With Me"

The same group of Beautiful women I dance with also have decided to have a drumming circle one night a week. I have never drummed before or taken a music or dance class. I was a little afraid I would not pick it up. Last night we had our first women's drumming circle, I can tell you I am hooked. Not only will drumming help with my dancing, but I believe it just opened up another doorway of knowledge within myself and about the universe. I am very excited to dig deeper and enjoy the journey. After the drumming would cease, there is quiet, joyful peaceful ecstatic silence. I left with a drumming buzz and today the next day I am still intoxicated by the rhythm. The Rhythm of the All.

This book is written by Joshua and Deborah Nervig, Deborah is my dance teacher and is teaching me drumming as well. To Purchase on Lulu.com

"The rhythmic dance of the cosmos, the progression of seasons, the cycles of the moon, the growth and fruition of crops...The idea that the universe is, in essence, a symphony of vibrations. It is often said that the fist sound we hear in the womb is our mother's heartbeat. Actually, the first sound to vibrate our newly developed hearing apparatus is the pulse of our mother's blood through her veins and arteries. We vibrate to that primordial rhythm even before we have ears to hear...We vibrate to the rhythm of our mother's blood...By the time we are born, we are already imprinted with the rhythms of language, emotions, feelings and interactions around us. Scientific studies have shown that our moods, emotions, thoughts and bodily processes are rhythms of chemical energy."

The Rhythm of our Star:

The brightest musical instrument
Our star, like others, is a gaseous incandescent sphere. We can compare the way it makes sounds to what happens when a clarinet is played. Blowing into the mouthpiece makes it vibrate, changing the air and creating sound waves that become trapped inside the instrument. The Sun does something similar. Turbulence in its outer layers produces changes in the gas and creates sounds, in the same way as the mouthpiece of a clarinet. The resulting sound waves (they originate from just below the visible surface in a layer some 200 or 300 kilometres thick, which is very thin given that the Sun's radius is 700,000 km) remain inside the star and resonate like a musical instrument.
Do you find this surprising? The stars provide natural cavities for sound waves, just like musical instruments. We cannot hear the sounds because they are in empty space and have nothing to travel through to reach us. However, as the gassy materials in a star are compressed and expand they make the star oscillate, and this oscillation can be detected. This is the visible manifestation of sound waves as they move across the interior of a star, and studying them gives us information about the layers it contains.

biorhythm (from Greek βίος - bios, "life"[1] and ῥυθμός - rhuthmos, "any regular recurring motion, rhythm"[2]) is an attempt to predict various aspects of a person's life through simple mathematical cycles. According to the theory of biorhythms, a person's life is influenced by rhythmic biological cycles that affect his or her ability in various domains, such as mental, physical and emotional activity. These cycles begin at birth and oscillate in a steady (sine wave) fashion throughout life, and by modeling them mathematically, it is suggested that a person's level of ability in each of these domains can be predicted from day to day. The theory is built on the idea that the biofeedback chemical and hormonal secretion functions within the body could show a sinusoidal behavior over time.
Most biorhythm models use three cycles: a 23-day physical cycle, a 28-day emotional cycle, and a 33-day intellectual cycle.[8] Although the 28-day cycle is the same length as the average woman's menstrual cycle and was originally described as a "female" cycle (see below), the two are not necessarily in any particular synchronization. Each of these cycles varies between high and low extremes sinusoidally, with days where the cycle crosses the zero line described as "critical days" of greater risk or uncertainty.
circadian rhythm /sɜrˈkdiən/ is any biological process that displays an endogenousentrainable oscillation of about 24 hours. These 24-hour rhythms are driven by a circadian clock, and they have been widely observed in plantsanimalsfungi, and cyanobacteria.[1]

Rhythm.
"Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right, is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." — The Kybalion.
The great Fifth Hermetic Principle — the Principle of Rhythm — embodies the truth that in everything there is manifested a measured motion; a to-and-from movement; a flow and inflow; a swing forward and backward; a pendulum-like movement; a tide-like ebb and flow; a high-tide and a low-tide; between the two-poles manifest on the physical, mental or spiritual planes. The Principle of Rhythm is closely connected with the Principle of Polarity described in the preceding chapter. Rhythm manifests between the two poles established by the Principle of Polarity. This does not mean, however, that the pendulum of Rhythm swings to the extreme poles, for this rarely happens; in fact, it is difficult to establish the extreme polar opposites in the majority of cases. But the swing is ever "toward" first one pole and then the other.
There is always an action and reaction; an advance and a retreat; a rising and a sinking; manifested in all of the airs and phenomena of the Universe. Suns, worlds, men, animals, plants, minerals, forces, energy, mind and matter, yes, even Spirit, manifests this Principle. The Principle manifests in the creation and destruction of worlds; in the rise and fall of nations; in the life history of all things; and finally in the mental states of Man.
